Dr David Lai directs surgical research in the Department of Surgery at the National University of Singapore. He trained in cardiothoracic surgery at hospitals affiliated with the Harvard Medical School Stanford University and the University of Sydney. He was awarded the University Medal by the Faculty of Medicine,University of Sydney and the Gordon Gordon-Taylor Medal by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England and also Edinburgh. He is also a medical technology advisor and venture partner in Venturecraft Group, which is a private investment group and venture capital platform for medical and infocomm technology, and an appointed accelerator under SPRING Singapore's Sector Specific Accelerator Programme.
